This is a fire in Detriot MI.  My buddy had found it and posted it on facebook.  It was right around the time Captcity had posted his would you go into this forum.  So I figured Id attach it and see what other stradegies people would have used at this fire or if they would have attacked it the same way.

it looked like a 1 1/2 to me but im not entirely sure either
Ryan,

This is definately not poor training Detriot sees more fire than many if not all of the fire departments in this country.

The second floor was involved but if you look closely they are on the porch roof which hasnt yet been involved in fire.

The reason they may not be wearing their SCBAs is because alot of the times in Detriot they go from fire to fire to fire without having time to replenish bottles its just how it works there.

And by the time a master stream can be set up and used two 1 1/2" lines are already in place and the fire knocked down.
From what I could tell, the wind was blowing pretty good from the A to the C side., which tells me from the view we had from the A side, that the whole upstairs was involved if the fire was venting from the A side, and the wind was pushing back into the structure. I agree with the attack they made, and from where. Unsure if I would have went in window, unsure how stable floor is, And this is why I would not have made initial attack from first floor, possible collapse. Once fire is knocked down and you can get a better perspective of what damage and stability you have, you can make a better plan from there. Thats just my thoughts.
