i was wondering if someone could tell me what SCBA sylinders are made of. i know there is mode than one type so if its not to big of a question could someone list three different meterals that the sylinders are made of.
and i know there are spelling errs, sorry im in a rush

Reading an article in the paper and then this thread, the comment I pasted here thus highlight some things being said about jobs. Communication does stand out and is out there on all levels in the workforce, from the oral communication, the written meme, the email, to the text. In most cases judgements are made by people on the receiving end of such communication, so wouldn't one want to promote forth their best example?
Here is what irks me on this particular thread, not so much the fact that you didn't proofread, nor be concerned with spelling errors, but the fact that you seemed to be so "rushed" that that should make everything OK. What is so important of the question that you had to rush to get the answer? You have stated before you are writing a research paper, wouldn't you think spelling and grammar is just as important as the research?
Would you think an employer looking at a resume with spelling errors is going to take you serious enough for the job? Should you expect an employer to just brush aside such spelling issues because you said you were in a rush? I wouldn't expect an employer to do so, nor would I expect a teacher grading an assignment to be all OK because the student said they were in a rush.
Here is my point, it is one thing to have an occasional typo now and then, but it is another to take yourself serious enough to articulate proper spelling, vs a nonchalant pass off for poor grammar by saying you're in a rush.
I sure hope for your sake that you spell materials and cylinders correct on your paper and you start taking such things serious in the future. After all, for most people, it is how one communicates in which the judgements are formed.

Uh... it might be easier to take you seriously if you followed your own advice.
I do, however, wholeheartedly agree with your sentiment. With Spellcheck so available these days, there is no excuse for such terrible spelling.
In the article you quoted, the author writes, "...The ways we build things and service things today are so different than they were 20 years ago,"
Something differs from something else. In the US, it should be stated that something is, "different from", not, "different than". In the UK and Oz, it is generally, "different to...".
I just find it ironic that an article making such criticism would include such a common error.

Read my post. I didn't change it, I merely pointed out the error.
"Than" denotes degree, as in , "larger than", "farther than", "more obtuse than"...
Just shooting for clarity.

Sorry, I think we're overlooking the major point here: The OP is doing a research paper by asking people here for the information. Not exactly research in my opinion, more like asking mom the answer to a math problem.
Rather, the poster should do his OWN research. And perhaps, with such an effort his spelling and grammar will eventually improve.
