Hey guys/ gals I am looking for a solution to a growing concern of mine within our dept. Aboard our first out engine we have 8 SCBA and 12 Spare Bottles, the Pack And Bottle combos are stored no problem in carriers wether it be in jump seats or the aftermarket snap in systems.... okay heres the problem we have the spare bottles in a plywood structure at the rear of the engine were the box can slide a foot or so side to side this doesnt sit with me to well since the valves stick out of the structure just enough to go for a ride... I was wondering if there was a pre fabricated quick access container in which anyone has seen to mount them in or to free up space for another rescue tool and in cab option our engine is a 1997 eone pumper 1000 gal tank with 1250gpm pump 4 door cab 4 seats rear wall seats were left out....all help is welcome and thanked for in advance if you know of  a product please include as much info as possible so Its easier to obtain information and present to our fire board so we can solve this hazard.

Thanks,

Jake

Got photos? That might explain what you're trying to describe a little better.

And, if I remember correctly, babies have bottles, the Army has tanks, and firefighters have air cylinders. :-)
Jake,

Pac is a company that specializes in mounting brackets and clamps for the Fire Service and is widely used by Apparatus Mfg, and service companies throughout the US.

Go to google and "google" PAC brackets, you will see a verity of brackets and a special designed clyinder storage system for you problem.

Good luck, and if you have any questions, get in touch with me at jlove@slaglefire.com
We took 9 inch black corragated pipe cut just over the lenghth of the bottles. We then found a space on the rear of our truck for the bottles to be stored.
I have seen heavy duty PVC pipe used to accomplish the same thing. This can also be bolted do so that it won't move at all.
I will post picture later on the pvc pipe is a good idea but the shifting from front to rear is an issue also I guess I was looking for like a 8 cylinder holder for the rear wall of the cab that was sealed so for god forbid you roll it you arent haveing to worry about them flyin along with everything else in the cab
Mike you dont by change have a pic of the finished product do you and were it is mounted
I dont have a photo with me but will be glad to get you one.
We have a series of large PVC tubes stacked in our open spaces...if you get the right size a SCBA bottle will fit very nicely inside of them with a minimum amount of slop and movement.....
thanks mike....I have pretty much come to the conclusion I will have to fabricate something so I guess now I am after the restraint standards that I need for it to be compliant
Beer comes in bottles too!

We use the same saying ;o)
This cylinder storage works very well. Positioned for us in side lockers, so the cylinders are placed across the vehicle, but the lining (rubber I think) is sticky enough to stop any sliding i'f say:

(Photos left large to show detail)
We use individual cylinder lockers in the top corners of the rear wheel wells. This space would otherwise be wasted. Placing the cylinders there opens up compartment space for other gear.

Our new quints use the wheel well locker concept for the air cylinders and fire extinguishers.

All have the same non-skid rubber matting displayed above.
