This spring Department was called to a single vehicle roll over, with ejection. Driver later admitied to doing around 150kmph in fog. You could actually see where the 2 ejected patients had hit the snow and slid along the surface. Everyone else managed to get out of the vehicle on their own by the time we got there. Worse injury...... 1 broken collar bone. They say God protects Babies and Fools.

One can only wonder. Have you ever noticed the amount of damage often is unrelated to the degree of injury? We've had calls that we were certain were recovery calls only to find little or no injuries. Yet another seemingly minor call proves fatal. Guess it really is in the hands of the lord.
Just when you think nothing stranger can happen... job security.
We had a car roll several times, hit a poll, and catch on fire the other day.... every body in it walk away with no injuries.... Before I became a FF I had a car fly by me on a two lane raod at about 0100 and I saw the tail lights start to fishtail and it shot towards the water. I thought to myself they are swimming now but then I saw the headlights rolling about 2 times and it can to rest. I pulled up and the car was sitting next to my friends bedroom (it turned out the only thing that stopped the car was a pile of slate rock he had sitting there) the people got out and ran away. When the police came to investigate they said the people tried to report the car stolen about 10 minutes after they rolled it. The car was a Neon and the damage was, the door speakers flew out of the doors, the dash speakers where about 50 feet away from the car, the back seat was sideways between the front seats, roof collapsed about 12 inches, headlights came out of there housings, and the side by the slate rock was crushed.
Had a call on Tuesday where dispatch reported "a 34 year old male threatening 10-44(suicide) by phone"...

I wasn't sure if they meant that the fellow was calling in to threaten suicide, or was planning on beating himself to death with the receiver...
Reg he could have had one of those old style corded phones and decided to strangle himself with it. Yea that's one of them "things that make ya go hmmmm" kinds of dispatches.
10-44? Must have missed that one in my NIMS terminology. (sorry I couldn't resist)

About the time you think you've seen everything, something else comes along, like an Auto/House... on the freeway. O drunk thirty in the morning, a company is moving an old wood frame house complete with escorts. Old Ford pick-up comes flying in with an inebriated pilot, past the escorts and into the living room... on the freeway.
"Talk about a wakeup call"

For you or the deer?
Wow thats crazy we had one this past winter were we get called to a minor accident that suddenly gets worse when another car loses control and takes out the police car thats one scene. The orignal car then some how ends up, up the side of the jersey berrier re-end first. Trying to have the driver explain how that happed was very interesting.
We had an elderly woman going down the highway, she hit the back of a slow moving John Deere tractor. When she hit the back of the tractor, it catapulted her forward, end over end OVER the top of the tractor. She wound up landing on the hood of a small car that was traveling the opposite direction that she was. When we arrived the ems had her c-spined and jsut waiting for us to cut her out. She yelled at us because we were causing too much noise! She had a few scrapes and I think that was it! nothing serious!
that would have been a great picture
150kmph? Is that one hundred and fifty thousand miles an hour? Or one hundred and fifty kilometers an hour? Because the 150 KPH is like what, 37 MPH? LOL, sorry the negative people on this website are starting to get to me. Heaven forbid someone make an error in typing.... HAHAHA
The strangest thing I've ever heard of was on I-77 just north of Charlotte NC. I was listening to John Boy and Billy (local and syndicated radio personalities) and they said there was a bass boat in the southbound lane. Everyone thought it had fallen off a trailer. But no it didn't. These fools decided that they could jump the interstate to go from one side of Lake Norman to the other. They didn't make it and hit 2 or 3 cars. From what the updates they gave later on and the next morning all survived but the boaters had to be flown out.
