SO i was watching the news and noticed this report about the city of Tracy charging people $300 per cal to 911 or yearly price of $45!! Heres a article on it. Thoughts anyone?
"The council decided to charge people when the Tracy Fire Department responds to non-fire incidents within the city limits..." not when they call 911.
911 is already paid for through surcharges on telephone numbers both land line and cellular. I'm not a lawyer, but I believe, it would be illegal to charge again for 911.
The $45 yearly charge is nothing more than a subscription service which companies such as Rural Metro have been using for years to help subsidize operations.
