It's Friday and the message boards seem to be playing the same old threads that have been here for a couple of days. Just to mix things up a little, please share your craziest call. It could be medical, rescue, fire, or just plain strange call. Lets keep the mood light, and enjoy our own strange events.
I was sitting in my living room one night with my wife and my neighbors, 3 Sheriff's Deputies went flying past the house about a mile apart. I opened up the radio frequency and heard there were 2 vehicles in a MVC. I got in my truck and headed for the station. About the time I pulled into the driveway the tones dropped. Aroostook SO to Bridgewater fire, please respond to 2 separate motor vehicle collisions just south of Buckley Hill to assist with traffic control. We pulled out of the station as the ambulance was passing, and sent our first response truck to the South scene and our tanker to the North scene. I was in the first response truck and landed at the scene that didn't have the ambulance. The driver, the only occupant, was a quick NEXUS rule-out and didn't want treatment. After speaking with him about the accident it turns out he hit a moose and it spun his SUV around and landed in a ditch. He said he got out and watched the moose run up the road away from him where another vehicle hit it about a half mile away as they came up over the hill. The only injuries were minor lacerations at the other scene, she was treated and released. Everything turned out all right, except for the moose. Nobody claimed the moose meat but I can't help but wonder what would have happened if they both wanted it. How do you split a moose up on the highway?
