Hey everyone,

Im in charge of putting the firefighters into traffic vest. anyone use them? what type? were to get tem? do you like them? what would you want different? we have about 160 FF that I will be outfitting so some money will be spent im trying to do some research on them before hand...any help would be great!!

We bought ours from a local dealer. They work great. They are a 5 point break away style vest. Our department want everyone to wear them on all scenes except for fire of course. But the are required by NFPA to reflect OSHA requiments on all state highways and interstates. They are not required for county roads or gravels, but our department said "all roadways".. They are there for our safety so we wear them.

You can try TSA (Traffic Safety Apparrel) they have them on sale cheaply...if possible get the DOT 5 way rip away type...if someone gets hung up on something they will separate (velcro) and not drag the person down the road...and to meet the new law (not guideline but law) you had better be using them...unless you are in an airpack manning a line.....Paul
