i did the national rgestry for ff1 and was wondering if all dept in the us honor it and does it help to ge job anywhere like the say

Only national registery i have ever heard of is for emt or paramedic so i dont know i have never heard of a national registery for firefighter 1

Ok I started this morning, but got sidetracked on a call. There is no national FF test, there are some states that have adopted the national standards due to a lack of there own program, however the move is on to due this as per a NIMS directive. The big 3, Florida, Illinois and Oklahoma have the highest FF standards in the nation and I can only speak for Illinois, our system is changing. Currently we have essentials 1-4, FF II and FF III all have the same subject matter in 24 areas each just a little more involved. The new system will be simply, basic and advanced, beyond that I have no idea but they have been saying it's coming for 3 years.

If you mean the Pro-Board certification, as far as I know it is still up to each state to accept or decline the certification. All the extra really means is that your class and test met a standard. I know here in CT the state will accept the class but still make you take the test for most pro board certification levels.
