Effective immediately, you are permitted to carry ONE item in your bunker pants pockets. That is NOT one item in each pocket; that is one item PERIOD. This policy has become necessary because many of you can barely move, due to the weight of what is being carried in pockets. If you are caught violating this policy, I will confiscate everything and open a hardware store. Chief.
So; the question is: what would be your ONE thing? One. That's it.

Hey ,I like the tool Oldman has shown , I just don't have one . The OLDDOGG that I am has carried a multi-tool for years . Ya'll stay safe ,watch out for your Chief .
I bring in with me a small carry-on bag with wheels, that way i can bring in water, a snack, change of clothes and my tool kit, plus a small cot, blankey, large jar of cold cream and a shower cap...just being prepared.

I assumed that it was a given...sheesh. Red, white, blue and amber lights and comes equipped with the new reflective striping and a mini-fed - to get them damn truckies out of the way.
well going to go the double edge sword route here..lol..in my bunkers a multi tool ..pliers knife so on..in my turnout coat pocket (gotcha cheif) in the turn out coat wire cutters..or just a truckie belt with various holders in which case its not on or in my gear till i put it on....ubt if i had to obey the rule like a good boy..50ft rope with 500lb rated carabiener
Hmmmm... one item in my pocket??? okay... lets find a way to get around this one then. First... what do I have in my pockets now? safety glasses, extrication gloves, seatbelt cutter, small knife, and flash hood. Okay well... I'm getting rid of the safety glasses completly, I will just use the goggles on my helmet, I will put the extrication gloves on a strap on the outside of my coat (like my fire gloves), I suppose the seatbelt cutter will fit nicely in the band on my helmet, that leaves us with the knife and the flash hood. Well some of you are probably saying "why do you keep your flash hood in your pocket?" Well, because we are required to take all of our gear on every call (in case a 2nd call comes in while on scene) and since I really dont feel like wearing a flash hood while I am just helping an old lady back on to the couch, I keep it in my pocket. On the other hand, I really don't want to give up the knife either. Well... after a few minutes of debate I have decided that I simply will not carry a flashhood nor will I wear one into a fire anymore. When my head, ears, and neck get burned; I will bitch and scream and blame it on ChiefReason lol. At least I still have my knife
(Please for the love of god, no one take that answer seriously!!! I am keeping everything in my pockets the way they are and yes before someone tells me how unsafe it would be to not wear my flash hood, I'm going to keep it as well and yes, You can bet I will be wearing it in the next fire.)
