wondering if any one can tell me where I can find information on hybrid car's i'm putting together a training class at my dept. in a mouth. thanks capt. wood
Yep. Here's my blog post from October that you may find helpful. Within that post, make sure to click on the links for a whole bunch of resource sites from car manufacturers. Don't be scared off by the amount of material, use what you need and build your training program around it. Also, wait for others to drop by here and give you more and better info. Good luck!
Holmatro had a problem with accessing their library, however, I am told that issue has been resolved. They have a free download available which covers all facets of extrication including hybrids and supplemental restraints.
You might also try Scene of the Accident. In the training section, there are photos, vids, ERG's which will give you a lot of info.
Problem with that subject is that every car has a little something different....we went and had one of the dealers (Toyota) do a walk through on their cars....Main rule of thumb...STAY AWAY FROM THE BRIGHT ORANGE CABLE...there are 2 separate power sources fro thr car....the main drive (High voltage) and the 12 volt....you take care of the 12 volt as you would any car and stay away from the battery pack and orange cable....Our State Fire Academy just gave a class on extrication...or better decribed as Victim access...you could write to them for a class book...I am sure they would give you one....New York State OFPC at Montour Falls....Stay safe Paul
