Thanks for your advice. I feel like I have a big bulls eye on my back some times.
wow does any one ever get on here any more?
Does any one in this group get on here any more?
tunnel vision yes probably. :) and yeah...the best way to compensate is to pay attention yourself. the few times I've been on roadside calls, yeah...big target. apparently even bigger target if you're standing next to the fire truck with the flashy lights. Had a motorist stop and tell me he couldn't see me because of the lights on the truck. I wanted to tell him "then stay over in the other lane and stay away from my truck and we'll all be fine" but I didn't. Same call I almost got hit a couple times.....spent a bit of time running for the safety of the ditch....though once I thought another car might join me there also. snow plow took out all the flares and all the snow (all of maybe an inch, probably less) where I had been standing before jumping for the ditch...again. you have to pay attention...others probably won't. I ride my bicycle for exercise. led lights, reflective stuff....everything.....one time at night I saw this guy coming for some two blocks, I'm in the crosswalk...and slam on my breaks to keep from hitting him. I get off and walk around his car he leans out the window and says "sorry I didn't see you there" mind you he stopped on the intersection side of this crosswalk....so if I hadn't stopped he would have had me on the other side of the intersection. watch your back brother.....be aware of what is going on. be safe.
I HAVE SOMEONE WATCH MY BACK.THEY STAND WERE THEY CAN SEE ANYTHING COMMING MY WAY.AN OFFICER WORKS GOOD FOR THIS.
