usually mine are in the pockets on my bunker pants, but u have forgot them once..
I actually carry two sets of gloves and if anyone of my people forget theirs I let them use mine.
Never forgot gloves bud did forget my helmet once. lucky me it was a false alarm
Carrying two pairs is a great idea . One really good set for interior work and another pair for outside work . I got gasoline spilled on my gloves once while refilling a drafting pump . That would not be a good time to wear them inside or around flames.
Not sure if you're talking about fire gloves or latex gloves? I've never forgotten my fire gloves. They hang off my coat on a strap.
Cant say I ever forget my gloves. My fire gloves are on a strap on my coat, extrication gloves are in my jacket pocket, and you better have rubber gloves on before you jump outa the truck on any kind of EMS call. No matter if you are doing CPR or just filling out a report. WEAR YOUR GLOVES!!!!!!!! You never ever know what kind of situation you are going into.
The underlying issue or root cause is what is concerning. You state some forget them all the time??? The glove portion of our PPE is a fundamental basic requirement to operate safely. It is also an item in which the victim cannot be effectively assisted because the rescuer is unprepared to do his or her job.

This act leads me to wonder what type of firefighter they truly are when operating at an emergency scene, the fact that some here carry two pairs of gloves to cover the unprepared firefighters is also concerning... do you babaysit them throughout the incident due to the fact they can't dress appropriately for the day? I must assume if they can't bring gloves, an accountability tag is probably unheard of as well.

We are not talking about forgetting to brush our teeth? This is a life safety issue on three levels, the person, his crew and the trapped or injured victim.

My suggestion to you is re-introduce them to the pockets on their set of turnout gear, which is designed and paid for by the chief to store gloves... and the next time they forget the bare neccessities to be a safe firefighter, they SHOULD assume the active role of simply WATCHING everyone else who is prepared to function as an active member for battle.

This technique is called timeout when used with our kids.... bigger boys with bigger toys.
You gloves, whatever types you need, should always be with your gear. I won't accept an 'I forgot them' - that would have to mean that person sits in the truck as radio control for me; as well as getting a 'please explain'.

I have had one person ask if he could borrow my gloves at a call. My answer was 'no'. If I let him have mine what am I supposed to do?
I think he means medical gloves. Most of the time I grab a pair from the box in the cab of the truck, if not I have a glove pouch on my belt, and there are gloves in the medical bag as well. Plus, you and your partner should be looking out for each other and make sure you have gloves on or whatever PPE is needed on each call. Never thought of sticking a pair of gloves in my cpr mask case but I will now...
Never i keep 2 pair of strucral gloves in or on my gear and my medical gloves on my suspenders ALWAYS at least 2 pairs....

How can you forget your gloves i just cant understand that
Well said, FETC. Also you reminded me that I forgot to brush my teeth! Be right back!
Never, and as far as I know no one on my department has forgotten gloves. Ace hardware donated glove keepers for all of our structural glove sand they clip on our coats. We all have extrication gloves in our bunker pockets and medical gloves in our rigs and POV's. Also I carry an extra set of gloves as does most of the people on my department. The keepers are the easiest way to remember your gloves they are always on your gear.
