I was just wondering how many departments have Fire Police, and are they paid or vol. departments ?? Do they hold any type of peace officer status, or are they civilians ???

Bob thats interesting, is there a way I can get the information on all your classes that you guys are using? We have our courses here in Florida to satify our local areas but those that you guys are using hit home nicely. If there is a way, I would like to get that info. Thanks F/P Steve
Hey Mick I think you meant commeNt instead of commet. peace brother.
we have fire police here in new zealand what their powers are im not exactly sure they hace said they can arreast people if needed but as a citizen so can i
their main role is traffic/crowd control and in our station they are mainly older ffs who cant ride the truck anymore but still want to be involved eg 60s 70s
Yes,
I am still a member here. And if you noticed, all I did was make my post in this forum about how the Fire Police here at my department work. He is a big boy and can handle his battles how he chooses when he picks them. He doesn't need my help, and I'm not going to get in the middle of his opinions.
And for the record, he is still a member of the site.
Here in Kane Pa. Vol Fire Dept. we have Fire Police and they must first take two Fire Police courses as mandated by the state. Then they can answer cal and control traffic etc. They do a great job and are a true credit to our Dept. We have an active force of about 14 FP.
Hey Thanks brother, peace
Hey Capt, Yes my department has one fire police. My dad. in fact he has been for over 20 years now. Here in Pa there are alot of them. their powers are very limited. directing traffic pretty much. I give them alot of credit. I hate directing traffic and there are times they are out there for hours and I'm thankful cause if it weren't for them I would have to. and they protect us. Thank you to all you fire police out there.

Hey Thank you Bull, I have to agree with you, I know that I wouldn't want to be
having to direct traffic, and they do play an important role within the fire department.
I give them much credit for what they do, and on top of that, most of them have been
in the fire service for a long period of time. Thank you for your comment, and the best
to you, and your father.
here in mich have public safety officers which do the same as fire police just different name
Hey Paul, Thanks for sharing your story from New Zealand, it sounds very
simular to what we have here in the States. Stay safe brother
Hey Tom, thank you for sharing that information with us. I will also agree with you as far as
the fire police are a credit to the departments that have the honor of having them.
Stay safe brother.
Hey Ricky, Thank you for that information, Stay safe brother.
