Illinois Blue Light Laws

Hello I'm just about to make the transformation from being a cadet to a volunteer on my department and I haven't been able to get a clear answer on what the laws are in illinois regarding blue lights on POV's. Now I'm not sure if it's just the case of them not knowing or what else, but I thought maybe some of the illinois firefighters on here may be able to help. Any advice would be very welcome.

Brian, Scott it’s obvious that you did not read all the posts as CR posted the Illinois code above. This relatively new law was enacted I believe 2 years ago, but will be corrected if I’m wrong. The letter or ID needs to contain a multitude of information and no it does not need to be signed by the chief just someone that can substantiate the info, but would highly recommend the chief.
