So my department has a 4500 gallon tri-axle monster of a tanker that we have given the nickname "the whale." I want to know if anyone has anything bigger. I dont know how to upload a photo from a differant computer but if you check out my page there is a pix of it somewhere. You will notice it (the big white truck) LOL
Tanker 3 is a 1989 Mack R Model with an E-One Top mount pump panel and pumper body.
1250 Gpm Hale with 2500 water. 2 crosslays, hosebed and electric 10"ewton dump valve.
I run with 2 rural companies. Upper Augusta VFC runs a 2500 gal milk tank with (1) 4" discharge/inlet on each side and a 10" discharge in the back. The tank is over 25 years old and has had 4 or 5 chassis under it.
Stonington VFC has a 2007, 2500 gal vacuum tanker. This tanker has (1) 6" discharge/section on each side and
(1) 6" in the back. Most tankers in this area, central PA, are 1500 to 2500 gals. There are (2) 3500 gals in the area.
We have 2 tankers. A 2000 gal Mack and a 1500 gal tank that was remounted on an 87 Ford chassis. It was originally on a 67 International that was retired.
Both pictures were taken by Eric Capots. We run dual tankers, our main one is a 2500 gallon 86' R Model Mack, and the other is a 2000 gallon 84' MC Model Mack Pumper/Tanker combo. Any more you cant get a Mack, you can get the chasie, but not the entire truck built by mack like we did. Were replacing it with a Spartan Metro Star, thats supposed to be delivered December of this year or January of next year. Im sure going to hate seeing the old girl go.
