Stimulus Package Funding
As most know in the stimulus package passed earlier this year, there was 351Mil funded for building and repairing fire stations. Has anyone out here heard anything ? I read that SAFFER & FIRE acts are getting more funds. The COPs got a big slice of pie, but I've seen nothing on this project. The way I read it , it was 351 Mil with a 1.5 mIL Cap on each project. The last i heard anything they were not sure if the state or federal was going to control it. Anybody got any insight......

Well I’ll throw in what I have found out; the money you speak of is suppose to be tied into the AFG grant and earmarked for building/remodel for those that are shovel ready. This may be why it has not opened yet and I believe the cap was 15mil per project, I also heard they have 20 places in mind, you do the math. Another avenue is through the state as 13% of the money they receive is for public safety, I know of projects that are in the process, mainly roads but have not seen much from the package yet. Hopefully the AFG rules will be out soon, May 16 was the original start date.
