KTUL is reporting that a firefighter from Hydro, Oklahoma has been killed and five others injured, one seriously, in a blaze at a grain elevator today.
The fire started at around 10:30 a.m. local time when a soy bean storage bin caught fire. Crews continued to battle the blaze into the afternoon and several nearby homes were evacuated. The town is about 70 miles west of Oklahoma City, the station reports.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and fellow firefighters of Hydro, Ok in the untimely passing of Chief Nolan Schmidt. May God richly bless in this time of sadness. R.I.P. Brother.
May the friends and family know that the chief now has a job with another fire dept. He is on Gods fire dept now.
May he never be forgotten by all who knew him.
Rest in peace chief Schmidt You have done your job well it is time to rest. You are with GOD now.
