Firefighter/paramedics. My department is actively recruiting for the position of lateral and entry level firefighter/paramedics. We have openings for 10-12 at this point and need to start an academy before August 2009. We are well paid and the paramedics have been working as much overtime as they would like. Our IAFF local has done well in securing us good benefits and salaries. At this point our retirement is 100% paid by the city and the starting salary is 60k/year. For our last firefighter/paramedic recruitment we had less than 150 people apply. We are a decent sized department with 9 stations, 2 trucks and all units exept the TRT truck is paramedic staffed. We cover over 100 sq miles with a population of over 270k. We advertise all over but still lack the number of applicants we used to. Our websites are www.hfdcareers.com , www.hendersonfireonline.com , www.cityofhenderson.com Please pass along to those that are interested in a ff/pm career with a growing progressive dept.
