I just completed my course for emt-basic certification. I am now getting eady to take the national registry but I am having trouble keeping all of this new information sorted out. Anyone have any certain ways to help out? It's been a long time since I have had to take a test of this magnitude. Just a little bit concerned. thanks for any and all responses.

when i took mine, i used http://rescueexams.com/ to evaluate what i knew and didnt know. then id go back over my notes and my book. one other thing to think about is dont over think the question just stick to the question and answers on the screen. also dont rush during the test. Im sure you will do fine.

Good luck and stay safe

thanks i will try that site
My friend let me borrow an NREMT book she found at the library. It has a lot of scenarios, followed by the answers and why that is the answer. I took my class in the spring of 2008, and took my NREMT on December 22, 2008 and passed. Its a lot of scenarios. So study those.
I finished my EMT-B course just before Christmas, and took the National Registry test on Jan. 6th.
Did you have a final test at the end of your course?
Our final test was a lot like the questions on the National Registry test.
Don't wait too long before you test, do it while the course is fresh in your mind.
Good Luck, you will do fine.
I finish my class in may of 08 and tested in june. we did have a final and i didnt have the scenario book but i rarly opened in. instead i did the stuff i listed above because it showed me where i was lacking in what knowledge i gained and what just went in one ear and out the other. that method worked for me cause i did pass the nation registry first time. and now i work as a full time emt.
YES . WE HAD A FINAL TEST. I DIDN'T DO GREAT ON THAT. THIS IS WHAT SCARES ME. AS JULIE MENTIONED, I AM LOOKING INTO GETTING A NREMT BOOKK TO GO OVER ALOT OF DIFFERENT SCENARIOS, AND I FEEL THAT I COULD ALWAYS USE HELP IN THAT AREA. I AM ALSO HAVING TROUBLE DIFFERENTIATING DIFFERENCES IN SOME OF THE TERMINOLOGY TOO. I JUST KEEP TRYING, AND STUDYING, THATS ABOUT ALL I CAN DO.
I didn't do the best either, so I know how you feel. But just keep your nose in the books and like I said, go to your local library and see what they have got. It is different for everyone, but I had a lot of OB and Pediatric scenario questions. I thought I failed it honestly, but I ended up passing, and it was such a relief. I believe in you and I'm sure you will do great. Keep my updated!
jonathon email me and maybe i can help.
Bottom line is A,B,C,D,E,F. Airway, breathing, circulation, ect. As been stated dont over think the questions. They throw allot of stuff at you. Stay focused on the whats important above. The ABC's. You'll do fine.
Yeah thats good advice. When in doubt - ABC's all the way.
TOMORROW IS THE BIG TEST DAY!!! WISH ME LUCK
good luck Ill be saying the same in about three months
