Well the year is nearly over and vacations from the past year are starting to fade. Before they fade into 2009 sit downa and tell us what you did this past year for a vacation. I am always looking for new and interesting ideas of where to go, what to do, and then how to pay for it (HAHA). this year I have taken two vacations, one in east Idaho for a month, boy it was cold and snowy, I don't think I will be doing that again, too much cold in too short a time. The second one was spending week just hanging around the house. Did some shores, but mainly just sleeping in and catching up. Enjoyed that a lot but I certainly will plan to go somewhere this next year.
Sorry Don, no ideas here. I spent my vacation attending the annual Virginia EMS Symposium in Norfolk. I sat in classrooms from 8:30 - 5 p.m. Woo hoo! Great vacation, huh? At least I got CEU's
i was selected to go on a people to people trip to japan. spent 2 weeks there learning about the entire japanese culture, endured the japanese bathrooms (think urinal in the floor you squat over) and put up with the 30 other kids i went with. Basically it was the best trip of my life. even though i got really homesick about a week into the trip and called home crying. (Well my family did fundraisers to pay for the tuition and people dponated money for me to go and i used the money in my account...) it was amazing
I spent the first few days going to the rensessince fair in NY..Then I spent a few days in Dover at Nascar... Me and my husband save our change in a can then at the begiining of summer we cash it in.. Had over 600 ..we start right now..Also scratch off tickets that are winners go in the pot.. That is what pays for alot of it...
Well lets see....Hmmm...Well there is a week at the State Fire Academy.....and maybe the Chief's Show at Lake George......Guess I really didn't have one....LOL....Maybe this year......LOL Stay safe and remember to keep the faith.....Paul

I went to Maine, where 2 of the guys from my platoon in the army are from. We were joined by 8 other guys and one of the guy's wife (who may as well be one of the guys). We got together and canoed down about 20 miles of the Saco River. I couldn't honestly tell you where exactly we were, but I know it was on the Saco. It was great. The point we started at had waters that were anywhere between 2-4 feet deep, and it continued on like this for probably 14 miles of the trip. We loaded the canoes up with gear, food and drink and made the best of this canoeing/camping trip. What really made it a special vacation was that none of us had seen each other since we got back from Iraq and then parted ways. Anyway, that was my vacation this year. Only 4 days, but vacation none the less.
Well i live on the coast of the jersey shore so i dont go know where but i did a week of striper fishing and cought my biggest fish this year 40lbs.striper
I don't take vacations.
I take three day week ends.
And I squeeze as much golf in as time allows.
Whatever is left over goes to the Harley.
It's almost like taking a vacation.
However; in 2009, I plan on getting together with some jakes out east. It will take some planning, but we will be pulling them in from Ohio, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Wisconsin and Maryland. But, I believe it is do-able.
You hear that, Gonzo?
TCSS.
