I'm by far not a politician but I will say that I'm a Republican all the way, I'm not a person who wont talk to you if you like Obama or have other views. It does not matter to me, your intitled to your own opinion. I think politics is fun to watch and listen to. They call each other a lier and make fun of one another. I like hearing the jokes that people or the media come up with. So give me your opinion or if you got a joke lets here it. Its all in fun.

Here's one for you.
Do you think 143 days in the Senate, qualifies Barrack Obama to be President of the United States?
You couldn't get a job at McDonalds and become district manager after 143 days of experience. You couldn't become chief of surgery after 143 days of experience of being a surgeon. You couldn't get a job as a teacher and be the superintendent after 143 days of experience. You couldn't join the military and become a colonel after a 143 days of experience. You couldn't get a job as a reporter and become the nightly news anchor after 143 days of experience. BUT.... 'From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That's how many days the Senate was actually in session and working. After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World ..... 143 days. We all have to start somewhere. The senate is a good start, but after 143 days, that's all it is - a start. AND, strangely, a large sector of the American public is okay with this and campaigning for him.

We wouldn't accept this in our own line of work, yet some are okay with this for the President of the United States of America? Come on folks, we are not voting for the next American Idol!

Politics is a very touchy subject. You make a very valid point. I'll decline saying more then that. God Bless America. TCSS
Yea not touching this with a ten foot pole.. I am democratic, but willing to vote for the best... but to talk politics nope.....
Personal Opinion: Discussing politics and / or religion is more than likely going to offend someone. This is why the two topics are discouraged from discussion at the fire station. I think the FFN is best used as an educational forum for firefighters, sans any politics or other agendas.
On here anything can offend someone . I am with you T.J. .
Vote Quimby!
First off I might regret doing this but here it goes. People shouldnt get mad if you are trying to talk about politics. I am supporting McCain and Palin for my own personal and religous beliefs. The fact that Obama has little experiance would play a part if I agreed with any of his ideas. I will ad a couple of more things. One Obamas always talking about change his V.P. has been in Washington for 30 years? McCains not perfect by no means nor is Palin. Democrats say Palin has little experiance but hers is as a govenor and mayor wich is closer to president than a senator. Hope no one gets mad and that no one gets on this forum and acts like a jerk.
Just for the record Damon, I fully support McCain who in my opinion is nothing less than an American hero the way he handled himself in a Vietnamese prison. And as far as the Sarah issue, she's the most down to earth politician I have ever heard. Having a woman in the White House is something we have needed for years. I bet you Sarah will be the next President after McCain's term... and will do so with style and grace. Of course its just my opinion... : ) ms
Justin, you are only exercising your ability as United States of America citizen to express your freedom of speech. All of your posts are sincere and from the heart. You are a good man. TCSS, Mike
Well sorry everyone for starting this if people are offended, but I did ask Chief if I could post this first, and he gave me permission.

Thanks TJ
Thanks Mike.
T.J. I dont think anyone is offended you statted a fact, but politics is one of the biggest discussions at our firehouse. As long as people can state their opinions and be willing to listen to and respect others I think this would be a good discussion. I might learn some positive things about Oboma and some negative things about McCain I didnt know.
I fibbed earlier. I am going to say more. Everyone get out and vote, that way the majority wins. Or at least the way the College Electoral system sees it. TCSS
