Niagara-on-the-Lake Queen Street Fire. Rear of buildings: Owl & Pussycat (yellow building) firefighter in window. Shaw Leather store & Sothebys middle building. Copper Leaf to the right with rear window ground level window smashed. Good view of flames shooting out of rooftop as firefighter cuts hole in roof. Danger, strength and firefighter endurance captured.

I am perplexed as to was anyone making an interior attack or does this dept. just do exterior? Hose streams being aimed into many windows roof vent holes is bad practice. I was left going wtf is going on at scene?

Hmm...I used to to live in Ontario, it is a backwards place. left is right and stop means go and smoke means take off your SCBA! Why use your foot to smash a hole and not a pike? Hopefully the safety inspector seen this!

OK... i am assuming that it is a defensive fire... because i was taught to not apply water in the vent hole.... if its an interior attack....

The guy in the basket had his pack on, and the other had his mask on connected to the truck breathable line.

Nice roof operation... NOT! Perhaps smoke and products of combustion are not carcinogens in Ontario like they are in the United States? Maybe Ontario utilizes that "new" style of breathing apparatus that is literally invisible?

Good thing they did not lose the roof. Question is why water curtain was not on (if equipped) and usually platforms have hooks on them.
