On 3/25/09, volunteers from Bladensburg Maryland in Prince Georges County were alerted as 3rd due engine for a building fire. Being the first arriving unit on scene, engine 94 with 7 men advanced a line into the building. After about 15 minutes of interior operations, the evacuation tones were sounded for iminent roof collapse. The fire was knoced in approximately 30 minutes.

This goes to show you how dangerous fast food resteraunts are with fire in the roof area , due to the truss roof a fire can get in this area before arrivial off the fire crews , think of how long a fire has been burning in these buildings before sending crews in on what could be a death trap! There was an article that came out in Firehouse magizine a few years back about these buildings.
