Fire officials in Butte are investigating a fire that erupted at the National Hotel building in Butte on the early morning of 8-23-2010. The building primarily serves as an apartment building and tenants were rescued from the blaze. The building also houses an antiques store.

3 of the tenants were rescued from the 3rd floor by the 1rst arriving units, 2 from a ground ladder and the other from the arieal. Having eyes on all sides of the fire made the difference with this collapse we were able to identify the over hang was becoming weak and were able to clear out the area before it came down

That's why you need to establish a collapse safety zone. It appeared they did!!
