We’ve been doing these for several years sharing responsibility with 3 departments and 2 school districts, I’ve been in on 7 and this year was my first to be IC. It seemed a little unorganized this year, way to much stuff going to get everyone at rehearsal, I had no idea who was going to be there until just before, makes it kind of hard to plan. I should also mention that this is put on by our EMS side, and I was not part of this, merely a player but with everyone asking me questions right up till we rolled you think I was and it made it hard to plan out in my head. Everything went off ok, I think, won’t know till I see the DVD and we did have a lot of mistakes, everyone was telling me to run this like a normal scene….yea right, time lines to meet, don’t say this or block that, make it look real…ok maybe they were right but I would much rather run a real scene. Anyways the only real problem, besides struggling to pop the firkin door, I had was communication with the man running this show, just a little important to keep that time line thing but I did here “Q the music” at the very end….go figure.
