The training was so great! It's really something to see a firefighter down and being dragged out of house, none the less one of your departments own. It really rocks you to the core and makes everything seem surreal. All the videos and movies I've seen have taken on a new light for me. Granted it was training only, it all seemed so real once we got beyond the shit shooting and got down to bussiness. I know that this what I want, and I'll push my way through the rough patchs that will come and soak in the good ones! Now on to the fun stuff...
I learned the art of spiking the IV bag for our medics, and setting up a basic triage for our firefighters during a fire call. Also got to do a few rescues!!! I couldn't stay for the whole session due to work, but I had a blast anyhow!!!! It was one of the single most amazing learning experiences I've ever had! And whilest it was only training, the adrenaline was FANTASTIC!
