Last weekend my Dept . was a little busy ,for once.We had a house fullof smoke , a heater fell over .Home owner was very lucky that they were still up . No major damage ,just smoke , used fan to clear it . I retuned to station1 w/tanker and ended up on a lift asst. w/ EMS , neede just 2 of us. Nice short run . I guess I better start writing this stuff down,LOL. Our busyest night came on Tuesday night 1-20-09 at 0023 we were dispatched to a working structure out in the County , I answered the call at 0023, we enroute at 0025 on scene by 0033, with an other dist. enroute w/ tanker , and the County next to us was dispatched to the same loction,but they brought a 1800 gal pumper /tanker (thank god ) ours was coming but they were behind me about 1 min. When I turned on the road about 2 miles it was fully engulfed , the people were out , no injuries. During the y'all come fire , our Asst. Chief was inside w/ County Asst. Chief and they decided to have a ceiling collapes ,which either one was hurt ,Asst. Chief was minor burns on neck ,he blamed the other Chief .These 2 guys do this all the time , and its all in the days work to them. We neded up thier till 0455 , we used about 10,000 gals of water , we also had an other tanker respond from the area fire dept. which they were closer. We ended up on the news under Dickson County Fire Dept. ,but the news had no idea where th fire was honestly . All in All we done good , Total lost ,no major injuries,and WE all came home .We had to return back up there around 1100 hrs. but this time we tore down the house ,so Fire investigater could do his job.On Thursday at 1200 hrs we had a 10-46 w/a 4yr old in side , w/ smoke coming from dashboard , my oldest son and I responded w/ pumper and 2others w/ utility trk. ,up on arrival no smoke ,EMS on scene and they were getting the 4 yr old out at that time , car had hit a tree head on . the young boy was flown out from local Hospital.Hes doing good last I heard from. Our Fire training on Thursday was Air Evac Lifeteam flew in and we done a site setup class, and this was thier promotion night also . We even got a certificate ....Wooo Hoooo . So over all I guess you can say WE were some what busy ! Finnaly !!!! Sorry no picts on fire just only 9 ppl. showed up no camera.
