fire dept and the need for physical fitness

so.......... for my last paper for medic school I am presenting about the need for us volunteers to implement a physical fitness program (right now the only thing we h is a free pass to the county parks and rec centers which I NEVER see anyone else at) especially since our ability to count PT as hours has just been taken away.

my paper needs to be TEN PAGES............... soooooooo, anyone have resources on the need for physical fitness/diet coaching / how to implement them???

I'm good about rambling on ... but I really dont have ten pages worth yet.

Any help'd be greatly appreciated :)

I don't have the info in front of me but over the years here have been several good articles that I have referenced regarding FF training like an athlete. This includes prehydration and rehab. If you check articles by athletic trainers you will find that the correlate streching, flexability and hydration with sprains and strains. You can see if the place where you when to rehab your knee has an athletic trainer, great resource. Good luck. I'm sure you will have 10 pages in no time.

I know for a fact, That cardio training will play an important part of any physical fitness program, either running, jogging, hiking with a breather or hose pack, stair climbs with the weighted vests, light weight circuit training, core training, but when it comes down to do it when the bells ring, without good cardio your done.
