West Palm Beach FD
Earlier today, I read something about yet another senseless shooting in Wendy's in West Palm, Florida. I didn't pay too much attention to it. I wasn't feeling well today and more bad news just wasn't sitting well.
So, I just read the headlines on my Yahoo and saw that one of the victims was a newly promoted lieutenant with West Palm Beach FD, shot in the back by a damn coward while his family waited in the parking lot.
I've known some of the West Palm firefighters from their Honor Guard. I'm utterly pissed off that a brother was killed in such a senseless way. No-one who died should have, the jerk should have just crawled into a corner and taken himself out instead of altering so many lives so horribly.
West Palm Beach, I am so sorry that you suffered this loss.

Didn't hear about this one. Shame of it is I worked side by side with WPB when I worked for an ambulance service down that way years back. Hope it wasn't someone I worked with. There was so many.
Why is it that God takes the one's that try and serve instead of the one's that prey and take the cowards way out in life? "Ole Sparky" needs to be used more often.
My prayers are with his family as well as our Brothers of WPBFR. See you at work next shift.

I too am bothered by this senseless act. I have an old friend that I worked on amb with 25 yrs ago that currently is a FF/Medic there now. On the first report my heart sank, you alway fear it will be the person you know. My heart goes out to the family, and brother FFs who lost a loved one.
