In a short while I will be leaving the house to participate in an assessment center for District/Battalion Chief for my department. To say I'm excited would be an understatement. I've been working for this for such a long time and today I get to show them I've got what it takes to cut the mustard.

I can't help but think of all the people that have helped me prepare for this test, those that have helped shape my career and the support I've recieved from the guys at the station. It's a blessing just thinking about those three items.

Some of you who choose to read this may very well find yourself's going to a similar process someday and I hope you are as excited about going through yours as I am mine. Just remember we can never do it alone; remember where you came from; remember who helped get you there; remember who you need to remain there once you make it.

As I've typed this blog I've recieved two messages from people wishing me the best. Man we're part of a great family!
