A firefighter is hospitalized after falling through the second floor while fighting a late night house fire.

Lincoln County fire officials tell Action News 36 that around 10 p.m. Thursday night they were called to a two story log cabin on Railroad Street.

That's where they say they found a two story log home fully engulfed in flames.

Luckily no one was home at the time.

But officials say a firefighter was on the second floor battling the flames when it collapsed.

He was taken to an area hospital where he received several stitches.

But he is expected to be okay.

Investigators say the fire appears the fire started in a second floor bedroom.
