When at First You Fail, Try Try Again!

Last night I filled out YET ANOTHER application and I turned it in this morning. This department is VASTLY different than the last one. The last one was fancy and pretty and in an upscale community. This one, not so much. A bit ghetto, slightly shabby, not fancy at all. The department shares its lot with the clerks office, road department, and police department. It took me a while to figure out how to even get in the building! All the buildings are painted white and locked up tightly, versus the other department of snazzy brick and big glass doors. The one I went to today, well, let's just say....I was much more comfortable here.

I met the chief, chatted with him a bit, and scheduled an interview for next Saturday. This position is strictly volunteer, until I get my P-card. Supposed to be a busy department, so I'll get lots of experience.
I feel good about this, like this might be the one. My mom drives around in a car with a "Firefighter's Mom" sticker on it....perhaps next Saturday I can make it authentic.

Ok, I realize that should say, "When at First You Don't Succeed, Try Try Again". But you all get my point!

Hey dont feel to bad, Our Dept. has only 13 firefighters total. We are renting the old City Fire Hall, till We can get a new Station built. Sad thing is, it is in the back part of the City Hall, and was Built in the 40s I believe. When we back our main engine in the top barely fits under the brick door. Our tender barely fits alltogether when close the door got two inches to spare and about the same in back. Thing is our station may be cramped and small crew, but thats what makes it more like a family. We all pitch in and do the best we can and if need more help We call it in. So you might just like the Dept. you have an interveiw with. If get on you may just learn a hole lot more, and get more hands on trainen and experiance. So to you take care, be safe and good luck hope you get on.
