Yesterday we had a fully involved house trailer fire. I was on the first arriving peice. We arrived to find a trailer almost burned down in some places. The fire was out pretty quickly and then we started the tedious job of overhaul. Since I am still probationary, that is when I get to do work. I had fun though tearing through everything and extinguishing. We weren't done until after four in the morning, but it was worth it. I love fighting fires! I never get tired of fires

While doing overhaul a fellow firefighter noticed a large number of darker spots in the floor and darker lines leading to them.

Those are called "pour patterns", an excellent indicator of arson!

I've been to a few trailer fires myself and can definatly agree that they go up QUICK!!! Just a friendly reminder to watch out for certain signs when going through overhaul. The last trailer fire I went to actually proved to be started by arsen. Luckily we saved most of the structure. While doing overhaul a fellow firefighter noticed a large number of darker spots in the floor and darker lines leading to them. We got to call an arsen dog in and it was actually really cool to watch. Anyway just be careful when ur doin overhaul, its alot more then just cleaning up a mess

Mobile home (trailer) fires burn like a pile of dried Christmas trees! Almost any fire in one of these structures will result in a total loss.
