I'm back

Guess it's been awhile now since I've been on my page and posted anything. I've now finished firefighter 1 and am taking firefighter 2. Sucessfully passed emt-b. Things are rockin here for me... Even though I haven't been able to run as many calls recently. I'm trying to get back up on that... I loving it just as much as ever! Keep your chin up everyone. You all are my heros!

Loving Fire and Rescue

Today once again I realized how much I love fire and rescue, even when it was running all the comercial building fire alarms that hit right at supper time! There's a certain pride in helping others when their day is at it's worse that I love. Most people complain about it, but I even love going into the assisted living home to check out the fire alarm that goes off several times a day. I just love to go in there and shake their hands and see their smiles. They are always begging us to come back!

Trailer fire

Yesterday we had a fully involved house trailer fire. I was on the first arriving peice. We arrived to find a trailer almost burned down in some places. The fire was out pretty quickly and then we started the tedious job of overhaul. Since I am still probationary, that is when I get to do work. I had fun though tearing through everything and extinguishing. We weren't done until after four in the morning, but it was worth it. I love fighting fires! I never get tired of fires

Emt-basic testing

Tonight I test out for my Emt-basic. The test was easier then I had thought it would be but me and my partner aren't sure we passed the trauma scenario. We got out of the test to learn that we had missed a mutial aid call for a fully involved structure fire. So we were welcomed back to the station with 1200 feet of hose to clean and rerack. We may have missed the fire but we didn't miss the clean up!
