I have to post a question that was asked recently in a first aid class. First, I have to say that I know the instructor that was teaching the class. I am an instructor Trainer for the Red Cross in our area and speak with instructors on a regular basis.

Ok, that being said here is the question she received. "If you have an unconscious person having a diabetic emergency, won't it help them to stick a Snickers bar up their butt?" Ofcourse, my first reaction was this student wasn't serious. The instructor said not only was she serious but the student argued the point that this would help. My next question was "Has she done this?" Thank God the answer was no.

There is no accounting for some people in this world. Oh, by the way the instructor was teaching at a lab.

Would be a hell of a shock to the person when they wake up, or woke up during the candy bar admistration

But seriously, the potental for a recovery is possible
some nausea meds are adminstered as such as well as other medication that a patient cannot keep down orally, Good question for MythBusters

Yikes.

I'm diabetic. I'm telling you all now. If I wake up with a Snickers Bar in my posterior, someone better leave the country. :)
