Two dwelling fires same day

Yesterday was one of our busiest yet. We started the day with a relatively small fire at around 6 AM. It was accidental in nature & destroyed two rooms on the third floor of a house. This time it was a row home that originally came in as room & contents. It quickly grew to include two of the row homes & threatened three… Continue

Double Fatal Fire - 11/8/07

We had a double fatal fire Thursday morning. An ESU college junior & a civilian died in a fire that was started by an 8 year old boy playing with a lighter. Two buildings were also destroyed. I will post videos, pictures & some articles in the near future.

We tagged the nearest hydrant as the chief called for an engine from the next town over since our second engine was in the shop for repairs. I grabbed the nozzle as the captain & another firefighter helped stretch the line. As I walked across the front, I noticed only one vehicle in the garage & a second detached garage on the B side. Once I got water, we attacked the… Continue

True Brotherhood!!!!

I got this from a friend on Myspace. This is soooo true!

CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Get upset if you're too busy to talk to them for a week.

FIRE DEPARTMENT FRIENDS: Are glad to see you after years, and will happily carry on the same conversation you were having last time you met.

CIVILIAN FRIENDS: Never ask for food.

FIRE DEPARTMENT FRIENDS: Are the reason you have no food.

So true....I never have any rice crispies around the house or brownie mixes any more…
