Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I always wanted to drive the fire trucks since I was little. I loved going to my Dads firehouse in West Hartford Ct. to bring him dinner and pretend to drive the trucks. Engines have always been my favorite. I love the smell of a firehouse, they all have that similar scent. There is nothing better. The adrenalin rush of going into a burning building was something that just comes to natural to some firefighters. Helping others and hopefully making a difference is the reward. Training, Training, Training...keeps you prepared, safe and ready to go at a moments time. If you want to be the first one in, you need to be ready and well trained to lead. Keep yourself safe at all times.
