I started my career as a volunteer Firefighter. I then figured out what I really wanted to do when I grew up. I went to EMT school then to the Fire Academy. After break of about 9 months I went through the Police Academy. I made it through all of the academys while working a full time job. I first was hired as a Firefighter EMT then recruited to my current job as a Public Safety Officer--Firefighter/EMT and Police Officer.
Was interested and started my career as a volunteer Firefighter. I found what I loved to do and made a career out of it

thats great man. I work full time for the Street Dept here in Trophy Club and volunteer out in the homeland, Wise County. A number of TC firefighters are reserve police officers as well so I thought about trying that. Initially I was all blue but after EMT school and several serious incidents with the VFD I'm at, I've thought about going fire.
hey Jeff I found your story interesting. I just finished EMT school and was set on becoming a police officer until very very recently. Now I'm thinking about fire...or maybe both. How does this work for you?
You want some snow? We got plenty of it to cool you off over here. Gray, white or brown, its all yours. Take it away. My wife want to go back to Texas but I like it nice and cold and thats why I'm staying here in Maine. I noticed your name is Vogel which means bird in German. Have you German background? If so, you could join the German FF of America group here on FF Nation. Take care and tschuess (bye in German).
I talk to Chip every other month or so about the same with his dad Denny. Was just over at the SRS office in Kemah TX talked to another third generation EmTecher. What is the name of Tracys company U something. Him and Kevin go way back.
Ahhhh back in the good ol days. We refered to you guys as the third generation emtechers. The first generation emtechers came from Western Emergency Services, Denny Day's original response company my Hat # was 112. In 1989 around this time of year I opened the Houston office. First job was a leaking rail car of heptane on Easter Night.
