Why I Joined Fire/EMS: After being a Police Officer & Volunteer Firefighter for six years i decided to become one of the first Public Safety Officers in Florida. I was a certified Police Officer, CFR , Medic and Firefighter . I then became a Firefighter/Medic then advanced through the ranks to Deputy Fire Chief. I retired with 26 years of total service. Was a faculty member at the local College and Vocational school's teaching the Fire Science degree program and certification courses for the Florida Volunteer FireFighter program. Was the departments Training Director for several years but went back on shift but was still active in the area of education & training .

Top Issues Facing Responders:: Education/Training , Manpower/Staffing Levels , Equipment , & Water Supply in rural areas .
