My Training:

I work out very frequently and run every morning. I train with the fire department a lot, going through mazes, learning the rigs, practicing drills with the fire department, etc. My favorite and best way of training is riding along. I get to go on the calls and actually help out. I have learned many things over the past year and I am really looking forward to learning even more. I took firefighting at a vocational school last year and this year I am takind EMS.

About Me:

I am 17 and a senior at Lake Zurich High School. I tooe a firefighting class at a vocational school last year. This year, i am taking EMS. I have also been a fire explorer for one year. i am really glad to have the oppurtunity to be a fire explorer because it is the greatest thing that has happened to me. I love training, riding along, and hanging out at the fire department. The shift I always ride with is an amazing shift and all the guys are great. We always work really hard on te scene, but then have a lot of fun back at the station. I finally found a career that I am very interested in and also that I love doing.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I have always loved watching fire trucks responding to calls and thought firefighting was the coolest thing in the world. Also, i want to make a difference and be there for the people. I love the Lake Zurich Fire Department and the firefighters there are amazing people. It feels like my dream of becoming a firefighter is finally slowly coming true.

It is just an amazing career and I love being able to help the community.
