Why I Joined Fire/EMS
It was actually by an accident. My neighbors have been a part of the vol. fire dept. for years and they had a new class coming in so they called me up and asked if I would like to try it. So, I agreed and went to my first training session. We put full turnouts with SCBA on and crawled through a dark house to find a dummy victim...after that I was addicted and I couldn't get enough. :-)
Why I Love Fire/EMS
the adrenaline rush...that feeling when you're doing something so dangerous that you might not make it home.
Hey!!! what is up everyone?! Well, I made it through the CPAT! WOOOP WOOOP!! and now it's time for the merrit board interview...this should be interesting. i know every dept does it differently but its the same idea...any1 got any potential questions you think they'll ask?!!! any help would be amazing
Yes their is
You have to be a member of a fire dept. You have to have a letter from your chief on letter head paper saying its ok to ride. Then you have to call HQ to pick a day to ride. U can ride on a sqaud a ladder or a pumper as long and as many times as u like as long as u r a firefighter and bring that letter. U need to bring food or money and sleeping stuff u ride for 24 hrs. If u want to ride on a medic unit it takes a little bit more stuff and time .
Hey Sarah,
I finally got you added. lol... Just wanted to congrad you again on your CPAT. Great Job!

My hometown is Lafayette Indiana and I lived in Evansville for about 15 years of my childhood, young adulthood. That is kind of cool. How is it going up there in God's country?
