I have ff1 and 2 I am currently a first responder as well and plan to take emt basic this year.
About Me:
My department is 32 strong and we operate out of one station with one engine, one heavy rescue, one brush rig, and three tankers. We cover a population of about 3000 but most of it is ruarl. Our jurisdiction is 101 square miles includeing another small community 9 miles away, Utica SD.
Day Job:
I also am a foreman on a concrete construction crew in Yankton SD.
Relationship Status:
In a Relationship
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I wanted to give something back to my community and to help people. And also a little bit for the excitement.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I love it when people you dont even know come up to you and tell you thankyou for what you have done. It gives me the feeling that I have made a difference and accomplished something great.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
I think our biggest problem we have faced is getting an adequate water supply in ruarl fire situations. But we must be doing something right cause we were voted the number one ruarl fire dept. in the state 2 years in a row.

on the 2nd run / a rollover at a stage field / no serious injuries light duty today. looks like the photo you have up was a barm burner. bet that was a ruch. anyways have a safe day
Afternoon John thought I might stop in and say hi, our squad has had two runs today, one you might say was scary for the female driver in that she thought she had been shot at, however it was determined that something (object) was hit by a passing vehicle and hit her drivers side window and shattered it. no one injured.
