Regular Army 87-92 as an MP. came from a volunteer firefighter family and returned home to be told that I could not get on the dept. Too many family members. Got married and moved to MN where I got on right away. After 3 years and one kid we decided that our roots were in IA and moved back where I finally got on the dept. Been there 9 years and counting. For those of you wondering, yes, I am a vet from the first Gulf War.

I was an Army Firefighter 51M at Mother Rucker from 1885-1887, I worked at Station one, several stage fields, and at Flatiron. Is flatiron still staffed with firefighters?

I will try to add some old photos of the trucks and Flatiron.

Hey All,
I'm still a rookie on the firefighting side, got my orders for another tour overseas before I could get to fire school. I'm on the downhill side of this tour and look forward to getting back to fire / EMS. I've been an EMT for 2 years and hope to make a career of it. Decision time is here for the service, will have 21 years in July, do I stay or do I retire? Stay safe.
