About Me:
I am the volunteer chief with the Glynn County (GA) Fire Department.

A native of Virginia, I relocated to Georgia in 1976 with his family. I attended local public schools and graduated from Glynn Academy High School, in Brunswick, Georgia, in 1984. I continued my education at Auburn University where I studied Architecture and Building Science and graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture Degree in 1990.

I returned to St. Simons Island to work for the firm of Ussery - Rule Architects, P.C. I was introduced to the fire service in 1993 at the persistence of some friends. Since then I has progressed through the ranks of the volunteer division of the Department, serving as a volunteer firefighter and holding the offices of Secretary, Treasurer, as well as 1st and 2nd Assistant Volunteer Chief. In 2002, Glynn County Fire Chief Carl Johnson appointed me to the position of volunteer chief over the two volunteer divisions of the Department.

I am responsible for coordinating the training schedule for the volunteers, coordinating activities that involve both volunteer and career personnel and act as a liaison between the career and volunteer personnel. I am the chief editor / administrator for the Glynn County Fire Departments’ website. In addition to my other Department responsibilities I provide written and photographic work promoting the Department.

My work can be viewed on the Glynn County Fire Department website [http://www.glynncountyfiredept.org], as well as on the 1strespondernews.com and Firehouse.com websites. I have also had work published in the 1st Responder News and The Brunswick News newspapers and other publications as well as numerous Department calendars and the 2007-2008 Glynn Academy high school year book.

In addition to printed and published material, I can be seen giving presentations to many local social and professional organizations and schools promoting the fire service and volunteerism.
