Why I Joined Fire/EMS
Ever since I was a small kid I can remember saying " I want to be a firefighter". As soon I was old enough to ride my bike I was chasing the fire truck every time I saw it roll out of town. If it went too far to chase with my bike I would beg my mom to follow it with the car. I played firefighter and was intrested in the science of fire while I grew up. It was a dream that I never let go.

Why I Love Fire/EMS
I just love this stuff.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
I believe the top issue facing responders is responding. I hope that every one who reads this takes a minuite to think before you respond to every call. Think about the nature of the call and if you can make a diffrence by how you drive. Never drive faster than you honestly feel safe. Stop at all stop sighns and red lights and check for on comming vehicles. They do not have to stop for you and most of the time it seems like they don't. Never pass another vehicle unless it is clear that the other driver knows you are going to pass them.
Too many firefighters are dying every week responding to calls. If we use our heads, we won't be one of them. I know we all get that initial rush when we recieve a call. When our tones hit and I get over excited, I just try to take a deep breath and think about what I need to do to help those in need.

During the crusades a group of men called the Knights of Malta was formed. This group of knights… Continue
