Top Issues Facing Responders:: i feel the government is getting to involved training and all which is necessary but, making it hard to get funds, thus making the volunteers have to work harder at fund raising, also i feel if a department gets a grant they shouldn't be eligible for a few years to let other departments to get some funds

Looking for a newer Firetruck

We are a small fire Department in Northern PA, Outside of Warren PA, we currently run with the following equipment, a 1972 international fleetstar 1000/1000, a 1992 freightliner 1000/1000, a 1991 ford 550 rescue truck, and a 1992 ford ambulance which is going to befor sale real soon as we only have 2 emt's and noone beating the door down to join so we are qrs status now, if interested let me know, but, we would like to find a good used truck with 1500/1250 pump poly tank freightliner or equivilant with 5 man cab, scba seating, other options ? can't get fema grants have some funding set a side if you have one or know one let me know please as our 72 isn't going to last forever

YOUTH OFFENDERS

I know I'll catch alot of flack for this my first blog, but, here it goes. I think the courts, should look into putting the less offenders into the fire service .take and give them some guidence, training, i know the really bad ones can't be alone, and if they have a bad record even after 18 their records aren't esponged at least in PA, but, even if they can do community service such as cleaning the hall , washing the equipment, doing the odd ball jobs, maybe they can talk to some of their…
