Tony, welcome to the group. I'm new to the group also. Check out The Christian Firefighters Assoc. Group. Glad to see the young blood in a group like this. There still is hope out there! Hope to continue to hear from you. Take care and stay safe, think smart.

Tony, welcome to the Nation to another Oregon Ladd. I am glad you dropped in to join the group. Dont be shy just jump in anywhere and get your feet wet. There is lots to do, read and be involved with. Your participation and involvement is important to us all. Takes a bit to kinda figure it all out but you will be glad you did. Have fun and look around.

The Firefighter Within

Posted on August 7, 2009 at 1:30am 2 Comments

Never give up.
Never give in.
Fight 'til you lose or fight 'til you win.
Never let up.
Never let down.
Never let the frighten see you frown.
Wield your weapons.
Conquer your fears.
Work 'til your sweat replaces their tears.
Learn from your losses.
Savor your wins.
Prepare for the next one.
And battle again.

That is the firefighter within.

ONCE I HAD A DREAM WHILE I WAS SLEEPING

THAT THE WHOLE WORLD PASSED AWAY

AND THE CHIEF OF ALL CREATION, WORKED THE SCENE THAT

THERE WERE PEOPLE OF EVERY SIZE.

THEY WERE PUTTING THEM INTO SECTORS,

ACCORDING TO THE WAY THEY LED THEIR LIVES

ASSISTANT CHIEF ANGELS HAD THEIR SECTORS,

THEY KNEW HOW TO HANDLE THINGS

THEN I NOTICED A GROUP OF PEOPLE.....

THEY WERE HOLDING THEM TO THE… Continue

What is a Fireman

Posted on May 25, 2009 at 10:38pm 1 Comment

He's the guy next door - a man's man with the memory of a little boy.

He has never gotten over the excitement of engines and sirens and danger.

He's a guy like you and me with warts and worries and unfulfilled dreams.

Yet he stands taller than most of us.

He's a fireman.

He puts it all on the line when the bell rings.

A fireman is at once the most fortunate and the least fortunate of men.

He's a man who saves lives because he has seen too much death.

He's… Continue

I Wish You Could

I wish you could see the sadness of a business man as his livelihood goes up in flames or that family returning home, only to find their house and belongings damaged or destroyed.

I wish you could know what it is to search a burning bedroom for trapped children, flames rolling above your head, your palms and knees burning as you crawl, the floor sagging under your weight as the kitchen beneath you burns.

I wish you could comprehend a wife's horror at 3 A.M. as I check her… Continue

Fallen Brother

The fire tone rang.....FIRE!

Adrenaline, excitement, the love of the challenge

Sirens wail and it comes into sight,

Flames and smoke rising into the night.

All geared up, ready to save, ready to fight.

Hose in hand - heads straight for the danger.

He kicked the door in - knew just what to do

The fire and smoke pouring out-

He tucked his head down and dove in.

They tried so hard to find him-

But the fire was just too strong-

We lost him in… Continue
