Hello Guti, To answer your questions I would suggest that you start by researching and talking to two groups. First is the NFA who is the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland. They may know of specific agencies who would be interested in someone young in the fire service from other countries. Second I would check with the United States Forrestry Service. They are always looking for young firefighters looking to get a start in wildland firefighting and this may be a way for you to get started and get paid. Also most states have some sort of organized training established for firefighters. In North Carolina we certify to a standard called NFPA1001 for professional firefighters. The program in this state is certified by IFSAC. Once certified in this state, if you move to another state certified by IFSAC, your qualifications transfer to that state. Another certification board is PROBOARD. NC is trying to get both Boards to certify out programs right now. Good luck to you. Great pics on your site. Hello Guti, I just saw you have been in touch with Micheal Schlags. I am a fire rescue instructor on the other coast of the USA. I live in Winston-Salem , North Carolina. What is it like were you live. The city here has a population of about 190,000 and the county another 165,000.
