If it will help, my husband is a captain at our local police department, he helps in homeland security, he is second in command to our EMA 1. All this week, he has been getting up at seven in the morning and handing out hay and water to farmers who are in need of it because of a drought we are having here. He is first in command of the Homeland Security truck we have here. When Louisiana pretty much drowned out, my husband was out here at a camp we have every day and night in that Homeland Security truck, taking care of all he could and actually helping some people find relatives here to stay here with. There's so much more, but I can't think of it all.
My Training:
When I was at 911, I learned CPR and 40 hours of dispatching training. There were things learned every year or so, but I can't remember them all.
About Me:

Day Job:
I'm a home maker now because of my health.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I am not now because of health problems, but my husband is a captain in our police department and I pretty much only have emergency services friends. I would very much like to be part of you guys. I understand what you go through.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
I'm not one, but I love knowing they have our back.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
They don't get enough respect and they need more reliable vehicles. Also, they need to have a severe increase in pay. I mean, who else runs into burning buildings and run at top speeds in an ambulance risking their their asses to save total strangers and ask nothing in return?

Thanks. How many years did you disptach? I've only dispatched for Mammoth Police Dept. for about 6 months. I dispatch for Mammoth Fire District, the Mammoth Police Department and San Manuel Fire Department. I enjoy it a lot.
Take Care
