Why I Joined Fire/EMS
It's important to help people when they cannot help themselves, or are faced with danger. All the other stuff..Lights/Sirens/etc is cool too.
Why I Love Fire/EMS
When you get hugs and tears from strangers...they know you did your best

Good Training even to the Vol Fire service. Many small Depts cannot send people to good training..etc

Reading smoke

The type of smoke seen upon arrival is vital to the call, as is time of day, building type, etc. Is there a standard  approach to viewing smoke. (example)...heavy black smoke is...X   light grey smoke is...X. I know that this cannot be set in stone, however a general idea is a starting point.

Mark: The studies are going great, I have an 4.0 GPA and also made the Presidents List! I'll be Graduating next Fall! It will be here before I know it and then off to the Law Enforcement Academy for 12 weeks :)
